- Leather care:
- Dave recommends you keep your leather product away from water when ever possible. Leather is a very resilient product but the nature of the Tannery generated dye’s and pigments used to colour the leather can fade over time. The best way to prevent this is to keep the leather protected and supple by using a leather balsam, hide food or conditioner. There are a number of products on the market. Always test them on an inconspicuous part of the leather item. Remember less is more! Many stains can be removed by rubbing gently. using a soft damp cloth and a little bit of soap.
- Genuine leather is unfortunately susceptible to stains. For stubborn stains a commercial product may be needed. Remember to test a small amount in an inconspicuous area and if there is a change either use a different product or apply evenly over the entire area so that it looks uniform.
- If you get your leather product wet it's not advisable to dry it in direct sunlight or the oven. It is best to let it dry in a shady windy spot outside.
- My Sandals feel stiff – Is this normal?
- Yes! Totems leather will soon start to soften up with wear and begin to mold to your foot becoming custom footwear.
